Hello all, hope everyone’s Christmas/New Year went well.
Each year the Athletic Union hosts a week-long ‘Healthy Living’ event aimed at promoting physical activity among the student population, and this year we are going to help out by hosting a one-off taster session for people participating in the scheme, during our regular training slot on Monday 1st February at 6-8pm, in the Taekwondo Centre (above Powerbase). If you are taking part in the healthy living week (regardless of whether you are a member of our club or not) you can collect a stamp for attending this session which, along with stamps collected from other activities, goes towards earning yourself some stash from the AU.
Our session will definitely be pitched at beginners’ level, so if you’re new to martial arts there’s no need to worry about being in over your head. If you’re a current club member, try to get some of your coursemates or housemates to come and give it a go. We still have a few membership spaces available, so if anyone who comes along likes what we do there is the chance for them to join up and train more regularly. For anyone interested in coming along, the usual advice is to wear loose, light clothing and bring some water.
